That's a pretty dog, I mean dingo.

How old is your grandson now? Seems like he was just born a few months ago.

"But there, where I have garner'd up my heart,
Where either I must live, or bear no life;
The fountain from the which my current runs,
Or else dries up; to be discarded thence!
Or keep it as a cistern for foul toads
To knot and gender in! Turn thy complexion there,
Patience, thou young and rose-lipp'd cherubin,--
Ay, there, look grim as hell!"

Re: Wildlife photos

How big do Water Dragons get, oldsalty? I'm not much for lizards, snakes, and things like that. I really like the Koala.

I reckon Ive seen Water Dragons  almost three feet from head to tail and lizards are probably the most prominent animals I see close to home bls.

The main snake Ive got to worry about around here is the Eastern Brown as they are quite aggressive and I dont think Id survive one.The red belly black gets quite big and people were killing them thinking they were deadly.Bit of pain and a headache but they keep the Brown Snakes away.

Being summer there should be a few snakes and Goannas starting to appear about now so I hope I can get some good shots this year. I really need to head inland about 500 miles to start getting some different varieties of animals. Most of the smaller marsupials are nocturnel around here so they are a bit hard to find, although I noticed some feeding holes dug by Bandicoots down near the beach this morning.

Re: Wildlife photos

A Great White Egret I took when I first got my camera. This particular animal seemed to be more used to humans and allowed me to get quite close.
My camera is out of action being repaired at the moment so Im hoping this year I may be able to visit some new areas. Many of the animals downunder are nocturnal so I may need to learn some new methods for night shooting to see some more unique wildlife.

Re: Wildlife photos

One of my favourite places to photograph wildlife is Diamond Head near Laurieton Australia.
A couple days ago I went there specifically looking for Goanna and after about an hour no less than five appeared from the surrounding forest and started roaming the camping area.
This one from head to tail was about five feet long and so used to humans that I could get pretty close.

Re: Wildlife photos

These are Fruit bats also known as Flying Foxes from a colony of 300,000 plus at Koolanbung Creek just north of here.Difficult to get a good capture so this is a combination of three images.

Re: Wildlife photos

I agree with bls... they are outstanding.. "damn I am beginning to sound like a stuck record"

My only critism would be... "We don't get enough photo's from you" I really look forward to seeing a new post from you when I log onto the forum because I know I am going to enjoy what I see when I view it..

Please keep them coming.

Re: Wildlife photos

Heres another one of Jimmy our resident Water Dragon.
He is fast growing up and what fascinates me is the resemblance of his chest to a Knights Armor. Makes you wonder about the existence of Dragons in ancient and medieval times.St George and all that stuff!!!
